Being well-informed is essential to understanding what is happening both around us and in the rest of the world.
We live in an era where we have more tools than ever before to stay informed and, also, to share our knowledge. The internet—especially since the rise of social media—has become a jungle where all kinds of content can be found, and where the volume of information is so great that it can take time for someone to develop their own strategy for filtering it. This is especially true considering that the algorithms of online search engines and social networks are frequently altered. I suspect these systems are not entirely objective. They are tampered with by power: governments and large corporations.
To follow the genocide that Israel is perpetrating against the people of Palestine and to stay updated on what is happening there, I have spent the last few months building my own network of sources. I find it valuable to share, as they publish content I consider trustworthy. It might be useful for you too. You can of course do your own research and build your own network of contacts, but perhaps this can serve as a starting point if you're beginning from scratch, or as a way to expand and update your sources if you've already spent time on this matter.
What you’ll find will not be pleasant, but it’s necessary to witness and spread it in order to awaken collective awareness. I encourage you to share information about the genocide in Gaza on social media.
