I’m Eduard López Arcos, born in Barcelona on February 28, 1974. I’m deeply concerned about the enormous void in today’s society — mainly in Western societies — caused by the loss of soul and fundamental values.
In 2011, I launched the Ride To Roots project with the aim of shedding light on this lack of values, using the motorcycle—one of my passions—as a vehicle for a journey across West Africa. The cultures of African peoples are still grounded in the most essential values, the ones that have disappeared and been forgotten in Western cultures.
During my travels through Asia and Africa, I have found inner peace. Traveling has helped me—and continues to help me—connect with the essence of human beings and nature. I draw nourishment from cultures different from my own, which have revealed to me some key insights about life.
I use photography as a means of expression, and as a way to explore and showcase the details of my surroundings. On TusitalaPix, my photography project, you’ll find images I’ve created. I also publish articles related to travel and photography there.
Unofficial Society struck me as a fitting name for this space, where I intend to write about my experiences and my perspective on life. Looking beyond the established norms of the society I grew up in has helped me answer certain questions—and raised many new ones.
